Q: What is the Purpose of CedarWallet?

The primary goal of CedarWallet is to bridge the gap between complex blockchain technology and everyday users by providing a secure, seedless self-custody solution that powers the Cedar DAO ecosystem.

Q: How Can I Participate in CedarWallet's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by holding CDR tokens, voting in the Cedar DAO on snapshot proposals, and using the CedarWallet for their daily on-chain transactions to earn potential ecosystem rewards.

Q: What Sets CedarWallet Apart from Competitors?

Unlike Phantom or Trust Wallet, CedarWallet is built around a specific community-governed reward token (CDR) and focuses specifically on passkey-based recovery to eliminate the risk of lost seed phrases.

Q: Is CedarWallet Secure?

Yes, CedarWallet implements high-tier security including hardware-level passkey encryption and on-chain recovery contracts. It has been reviewed by community developers and carries a transparency score on platforms like RootData.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with CedarWallet?

Potential risks include the typical volatility of small-cap utility tokens and the reliance on the Solana network's uptime. These risks are managed through deep liquidity pools and a decentralized DAO governance model.

What is CedarWallet?

CedarWallet is a next-generation self-custody crypto wallet designed for mainstream accessibility and high security. It utilizes a user-friendly approach by incorporating passkeys and trusted devices to eliminate the need for traditional seed phrases, while maintaining on-chain recovery options to ensure users always have access to their assets.

How Does CedarWallet Work?

CedarWallet operates as an infrastructure-grade wallet (InfraWallet) that leverages biometrics and hardware-based passkeys for secure authentication. It integrates with various blockchain networks, primarily focusing on the Solana ecosystem while offering multi-chain compatibility. The wallet handles private keys through a decentralized security model that combines local device security with on-chain recovery protocols.

What Makes CedarWallet Unique?

What sets CedarWallet apart is its focus on the 'seedless' experience, making it highly suitable for Web3 newcomers. Unlike traditional wallets, it offers a transparency-focused model (scoring high on RootData) and is built to be the official entry point for the Cedar DAO ecosystem. Key features include integrated reward tracking for the CDR token and a high emphasis on user recovery without compromising self-custody.

Who Are the Founders of CedarWallet?

CedarWallet was founded by a team of experienced blockchain developers and community leaders who previously managed successful reward-focused tokens on the Binance Smart Chain. While individual executive names are often kept within the DAO governance structure to prioritize decentralization, the project is spearheaded by the Cedar DAO committee and supported by prominent industry figures like Mike Tomaino (Partner at 1confirmation) as an early follower and supporter.
