Enkrypt: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Enkrypt?

The primary goal of Enkrypt is to simplify the multichain experience, allowing users to manage assets and access DApps across disparate blockchains like Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Polkadot without the need for multiple different wallet extensions.

Q: How Can I Participate in Enkrypt's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by downloading the extension, using the built-in swap and bridge features, and connecting to various web3 applications. Developers can contribute by integrating their chains or DApps into the Enkrypt ecosystem via its open-source repository.

Q: What Sets Enkrypt Apart from Competitors?

Unlike many competitors that focus solely on EVM chains, Enkrypt provides native, deep-level support for Polkadot, Substrate, and Bitcoin, offering a truly 'chain-agnostic' experience with a single recovery phrase.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Enkrypt?

As a 'hot' wallet browser extension, the primary risks include phishing attacks and local malware on the user's computer. These are managed through best practices like recovery phrase safety and the use of hardware wallets for large holdings.

What is Enkrypt?

Enkrypt is a multichain, non-custodial web3 browser wallet extension developed by MyEtherWallet (MEW). Designed as a successor to the original Ethereum interface, Enkrypt's mission is to provide a seamless and secure gateway to the expanding multichain ecosystem, supporting Ethereum, Polkadot, Bitcoin, Solana, and over 70 other networks from a single, user-friendly interface.

How Does Enkrypt Work?

Enkrypt works as a browser extension that allows users to manage digital assets, interact with decentralized applications (DApps), and swap tokens across different blockchains. It utilizes a single recovery phrase to manage accounts across all supported networks and integrates natively with hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor. The extension handles complex cross-chain interactions in the background, offering a simplified experience for both EVM and non-EVM chains.

What Makes Enkrypt Unique?

Enkrypt stands out due to its deep integration with the Polkadot and Substrate ecosystems alongside traditional EVM chains. It was built in collaboration with the Web3 Foundation and Parity Technologies to ensure robust interoperability. Key features include an integrated DApp browser, cross-chain swapping, NFT management, and the ability to function as a drop-in replacement for MetaMask, allowing users to access a wider range of blockchains without switching extensions.

Who Are the Founders of Enkrypt?

Enkrypt was created by the team at MyEtherWallet Inc., led by CEO and Founder Kosala Hemachandra. Hemachandra is a pioneer in the Ethereum space, having launched MEW just weeks after the Ethereum mainnet went live in 2015. The team’s extensive experience in open-source wallet development and commitment to user privacy and security is the foundation of Enkrypt's design.
