Hyperliquid Names: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Hyperliquid?

The purpose of Hyperliquid is to provide a high-performance, decentralized alternative to centralized exchanges, allowing users to trade complex financial instruments like perpetual futures with sub-second speed while maintaining full custody of their assets.

Q: How Can I Participate in Hyperliquid's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by trading on the Hyperliquid DEX, providing liquidity to vaults (HLP), staking HYPE tokens to secure the network and earn rewards, or building applications on the HyperEVM layer.

Q: What Sets Hyperliquid Apart from Competitors?

Unlike many competitors that rely on Layer 2 solutions or general-purpose blockchains, Hyperliquid uses a custom-built L1 (HyperCore) specifically optimized for a central limit order book, achieving much lower latency and higher throughput.

Q: Is Hyperliquid Secure?

Hyperliquid implements security through the HyperBFT consensus mechanism and has undergone audits by reputable firms like Zellic. It also maintains a bug bounty program and uses on-chain risk management features like open interest caps to prevent market manipulation.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Hyperliquid?

Risks include smart contract vulnerabilities, potential oracle manipulation in low-liquidity markets, and the inherent volatility and liquidation risks associated with high-leverage trading.

What is Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain specifically engineered for financial services. Its mission is to build a fully on-chain open financial system that provides the speed and efficiency of centralized exchanges without sacrificing the security and transparency of decentralized finance (DeFi). The platform supports perpetual futures, spot trading, and a native Ethereum Virtual Machine (HyperEVM) for smart contract development.

How Does Hyperliquid Work?

Hyperliquid operates on its own sovereign blockchain using a custom Byzantine Fault Tolerant (HyperBFT) consensus mechanism. Unlike many DEXs that rely on external networks like Ethereum, Hyperliquid's Layer 1 is optimized for trading with an on-chain Central Limit Order Book (CLOB). This architecture allows it to process up to 200,000 orders per second with sub-second finality, eliminating the need for gas fees and external sequencers.

What Makes Hyperliquid Unique?

What sets Hyperliquid apart is its high-throughput infrastructure that enables professional-grade trading tools, such as up to 50x leverage, limit orders, and immediate execution, all entirely on-chain. Additionally, it features 'HyperEVM,' which allows developers to build DeFi applications like lending protocols that can directly leverage the core exchange's deep liquidity. The project is also notable for its community-first launch, having avoided venture capital (VC) funding to prioritize organic growth.

Who Are the Founders of Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid was founded by Jeff Yan and a co-founder known as Iliensinc. Jeff Yan is a Harvard University alumnus with a background in quantitative trading at firms like Hudson River Trading. The team consists of a compact group of highly skilled engineers and finance professionals with expertise from institutions such as MIT, Caltech, and Citadel, focusing on optimizing blockchain performance for real-time financial execution.

What Key Events Have There Been for Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid reached a major milestone with the launch of its native token, HYPE, on November 29, 2024, through one of the largest retroactive airdrops in crypto history. Other key events include the rollout of HyperEVM in early 2025, the implementation of HIP-3 for permissionless market creation in October 2025, and the launch of HIP-4 on-chain prediction markets in May 2026.

Project Announcements

In June 2026, Hyperliquid was ranked #1 in DeFi on Fortune's Crypto 100 list. The protocol also recently enabled portfolio margin in pre-alpha, allowing users to use HYPE as collateral for trades, and expanded its validator set from 24 to 27 to further enhance decentralization.

Latest Airdrop

While the Genesis airdrop concluded in late 2024, the community anticipates 'Season 2' rewards. Currently, there is no official date for the next distribution, but 38.8% of the total HYPE supply is reserved for future community emissions and rewards programs.

ICO Time

Hyperliquid did not hold a traditional public ICO, focusing instead on a community-led distribution model.

IDO Time

The token was introduced via a Genesis Event rather than a standard IDO on third-party launchpads.

TGE Time

The Token Generation Event (TGE) successfully occurred on November 29, 2024.

HYPE Price

Daily Trading Volume

The 24-hour trading volume typically ranges between $300 million and $600 million, reflecting high market activity and liquidity.

All-Time High

HYPE reached an all-time high of approximately $75.61 on June 1, 2026. The current price represents a retracement of roughly 20% from this peak.

All-Time Low

The all-time low was approximately $3.20 shortly after its launch in late 2024, marking an increase of over 1,700% to its current valuation levels.

Market Cap and Valuation

Market Cap

The circulating market capitalization is approximately $13.4 billion, ranking it among the top 15 cryptocurrencies globally.

Fully Diluted Valuation

The fully diluted valuation (FDV) is approximately $57.9 billion, based on the total fixed supply of 1 billion tokens.

HYPE Price Prediction

Recent analysis from CoinShares provides a bullish long-term outlook, with a base-case price target of $147 by 2031 and a bull-case target of $455 if on-chain perpetuals achieve mainstream adoption. Market analysts suggest that near-term price stability depends on HYPE maintaining support above the $50-$55 level, with the potential for further growth driven by the platform's high fee-generation and buyback mechanisms.
