Aqua is developed by the 1inch team, who have a proven track record in DeFi security. The protocol is undergoing rigorous audits, and 1inch has established a $100,000 bug bounty program to ensure code integrity.

Aqua: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Aqua?

The purpose of Aqua is to solve liquidity fragmentation by creating a layer where capital can be shared across multiple DeFi protocols simultaneously without losing user custody.

Q: How Can I Participate in Aqua's Ecosystem?

Developers can currently participate by building on the Aqua SDK via GitHub. Token holders can participate by voting in the Aquarius DAO to decide which market pairs receive liquidity incentives.

Q: What Sets Aqua Apart from Competitors?

Unlike traditional AMMs that require locking tokens into specific pools (TVL), Aqua allows assets to stay in the user's wallet while being utilized by multiple strategies at once.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Aqua?

As a new liquidity layer, risks include potential smart contract vulnerabilities and the 'strategy risk' where the underlying trading logic may not perform as expected in volatile market conditions.

What is Aqua?

Aqua is a revolutionary liquidity layer protocol developed by the 1inch team, designed to address the problem of liquidity fragmentation in Decentralized Finance (DeFi). It serves as a shared liquidity layer that allows multiple DeFi strategies—such as automated market makers (AMMs), stable swap pools, and custom trading logic—to access the same capital base simultaneously without requiring users to lock their funds or surrender custody.

How Does Aqua Work?

The protocol operates through a unique architecture where assets remain in user wallets while various strategies tap into them only when a trade executes. It transforms each wallet into a self-custodial liquidity resource; when a strategy triggers an atomic swap, the system pulls the necessary assets and returns them instantly. This 'multiplicative' capital effect allows one set of tokens to back multiple yield-generating roles at the same time.

What Makes Aqua Unique?

Aqua is unique because it eliminates the need for Total Value Locked (TVL) as a measure of a project's success. Instead of competing for a limited pool of deposited assets, strategies share the same liquid capital. This creates 'infinite scalability' in capital efficiency, as a single asset can fulfill multiple roles across different networks and protocols without being physically moved or locked into individual smart contracts.

Who Are the Founders of Aqua?

Aqua was founded by the creators of 1inch Network, Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov. Both are prominent figures in the DeFi space, known for launching the first DEX aggregator in 2019. Their expertise lies in smart contract security and high-efficiency routing algorithms, and they have developed Aqua as the foundational infrastructure for the next generation of scalable, capital-efficient decentralized finance.
